Of all the places in our respective houses, this is the only place where water related damages occur even though it’s all summer and sunny outside and even though there is no sign of precipitation whatsoever
Although the bathroom is made for water and technically the bathroom is not functional if there is no water running in it, the same lifeblood of this part of the house could also work cunningly on its detriment
Water damage in our comfort rooms could usually be traced from the bathtub, showers, faucet, tiles, or simply put in every subpart of it Every part of the bathroom has something to do with water thus they are all prone to water damage
Water, though seemingly soluble and helpless, is the root cause of many household problems and even worse accidents It is therefore in this light that we should not take for granted or disregard any sign of water damage in our bathrooms
Research shows that most household accidents happen in the bathroom, majority due to slippery floors and water damaged facility inside So, instead of putting a remedy on the damage created by water in our bathrooms, it is highly advisable that we prevent them
In order to prevent them we should be keen and wary on any presence of unusual sights in our bathrooms, like creaks or missing clout in the tiled floor, rusty edges and seemingly corroded water pipes, malfunctioning drainage system, bathroom cabinets and toilet bowl
Faulty tiled floor due to intense water pressure or other factors may cause accidents especially kids who are starting to take a bath on their own Moreover, discoloration in the walls and bathroom floors may signify the existence of hazardous molds inside due to extreme moisture and humidity
Bathroom cabinets are prone to humidity and mold infestation, thus be sure to cleanup the cabinet every so often to avoid being the breeding ground of molds and mildew
Also, do always check the water lines, hose, water tanks, toilet rims, and tanks seals of our toilet bowls for leaks and clogging Toilet bowls are one of the most mysterious thing in the bathroom and if you would not know him well there are chances that he might surprise you
Corroded water pipes may not only cause low water pressure but also contaminated water that may not be safe even for taking a bath Also it may break or fall without us noticing and may victimize other members of the family!
Contact a plumber regularly to check for leaks and other sources of water damage Also do paint regularly your bathrooms There are some special synthetic paints available in the market that could form an impenetrable film that could protect your walls from water damage
Don’t be afraid to invest on high quality bathroom stuff or a thorough bathroom inspection by a registered plumber every three months, to avoid water damage problems and complications
As we all know, mediocrity has a higher cost over quality
